Digiterre Hedge Fund Regatta 2007 - Doubles Entry
London - Wednesday, June 06, 2007
Digiterre, in association with Bear Stearns, is pleased to announce that the 2007 Digiterre Hedge Fund Regatta has double the number of entries compared to the 2006 inaugural event. The regatta, to be held on 19th - 21st July, will feature racing yachts crewed by teams from across the UK Hedge Fund industry.
Organisations such as GLG, Elgin Capital, FRM, HSH Nordbank and Bear Stearns Asset Management will be competing in 40 foot yachts in a series of races around the Solent, with races being organised by the Royal Southampton Yacht Club. In all, over 120 "pro" and amateur sailors alike are expected to attend the event.
Michele Péretié, CEO of Bear Stearns International who are co-sponsoring the event commented, "We are keen to support the development of the Digiterre Hedge Fund Regatta into an industry-wide event which appeals as much for it's networking opportunities as for the chance to race over the water."
Ian Murrin CEO of Digiterre commented "There is no other event like this in the UK Hedge Fund Industry calendar. There's plenty of time to get to know a lot of new people, the competition is intense and the social angle is really great fun. Whether you are a relative novice or a seasoned sailor, the event has a unique appeal. Last year's regatta was a great success which is why we have twice the number of entries this year."
Some companies are bringing their own boats and others are chartering a boat, complete with professional skipper, arranged by the organisers. As well as the racing during the day, the crews will enjoy the gala dinner on the Friday night.
Registration is still open for any last minute entries.
